TROOP SURGE WORKS!

According to the BBC, rocket and mortar attacks have dramatically fallen in Iraq. In October Iraq saw 369 attacks, half the number seen last year at this time and the lowest level of such incidents of violence in nearly two years. October marks the third consecutive month in which these attacks have fallen. Baghdad saw only 53 attacks in October, compared with over 200 in June.

Officials cite Bush’s troop surge for putting more boots on the ground to combat terrorist forces in the region. Additionally, more Iraqi tips to US forces and more successful reconciliation programs have led to the decrease in violence said Lt. Col. James Rikard, a US military spokesman.

While violence is still a fact of life in the region, there were over a thousand fewer deaths in October than there had been in January. Senior US officials believe that al-Qaeda has been driven from Baghdad altogether. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki stated on Sunday that the troop surge caused a marked drop in car bombs and roadside explosions- as much as 77%.

So its official, President Bush’s troop surge is working. Hopefully those idiots at MoveOn.org who took out the full page in The New York Times calling General Petreus a traitor will admit they were wrong and apologize to the General, the President, and America. Even The New York Times itself had admitted the ad was in bad taste. How about you, MoveOn.org?
